The Institute of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary was founded in 1877 by blessed Mary of the Passion (Helen de Chappotin) at Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu an International Religious Congregation of women comprising 82 nationalities spread over 77 countries in the five continents of the world. The dedicated sisters undertake a variety of apostolic endeavour in education, medical and social work serving the economically weak and socially backward with towering concern, a universe of understanding and a galaxy of generosity.
